MATCHES ARE CURRENTLY SUSPENDED
We will be holding six matches per year and are judged by an external judge. The match dates are in the Key Dates section. Matches are judged on the dog not the handler in line with the Kennel Club (KC) Show Regulations (F) and Match Regulations F (2). In line with regulation F (2) 5f, dogs that have won a Challenge Certificate are unable to enter Matches.
We have the following classes:
Minor Puppy – for puppies of 4 and not exceeding 6 calendar months;
Puppy – for puppies of 6 and not exceeding 12 calendar months;
Junior – for dogs of 12 and not exceeding 18 calendar months;
Post graduate – for dogs that have not won 5 or more first prizes at a Championship Shows in Post Graduate, Minor or Mid Limit, Limit or open Classes;
Open – for all dogs; and
Veteran – for dogs 7 years and over on the day of the match.
In addition, we have a Puppy walk for puppies under 4 calendar months.
The best dog, puppy and veteran from each match are eligible to compete for the dog, puppy and veteran of the year at the Christmas match held in December. Once you have been awarded Best in Match you are not able to enter any further matches until after the Dog of the Year match.
If you win best puppy you can no longer enter puppy classes at matches until the Puppy of the Year Match. However you can enter the junior class once the dog is 12 months and over and compete for Best Adult and Best in Match.
If you win best veteran you can no longer enter veteran classes at matches until the Veteran of the Year Match. However you can enter the post graduate and open class and compete for Best Adult and Best in Match.
Times
Entries for matches are taken from 19.15 to 19.45. Matches normally start at 20.00.
